TYPE 1 SURVEY
Location and assessment survey (presumptive survey or walk through survey)
This involves no sampling of materials and is required when buildings are well decorated and no damage to finishes and decoration is permitted. All areas that cannot support a reasoned argument that they are not asbestos free must be presumed or strongly presumed to contain asbestos. All presumed or strongly presumed areas shall be located, marked on plans, recorded and where necessary photographed. Suspected asbestos containing materials are risk assessed by means of the material assessment in MDHS 100 and where required by the client a priority assessment is carried out to Breeze Environmental Consultants Ltd. in house method. In the absence of analytical evidence many non-asbestos materials will be presumed to contain asbestos.
